Organized by: PK Vjeverica (Mountaineering Club Kotor)
If you’re in Montenegro on Sunday, October 5, and feel like combining outdoors, views, and local history — join the 14th annual Kotor–Lovćen–Kotor Hike Day.
🌄 The Route
Choose based on how much walking (and climbing) you’re up for:
- Krstac Route
- Distance: ~13.5 km
- Elevation gain: ~950 m
- Start time: 08:00
- Marathon Route
- Distance: ~31 km
- Elevation gain: ~1,650 m
- Start time: 07:00
Both routes offer stunning contrasts — from sea level to lofty mountain peaks, with nature and history mixed along the way.
🏞 What to Expect
This is more than just a walk — it’s a sea-to-summit journey. You’ll begin almost at sea level (just a few metres above the bay of Kotor) and climb up to roughly 1,700 m on Lovćen. Along the trail, you’ll pass:
- Sweeping views of Kotor Bay
- Rocky terrain behind the coastal belt
- Forested trails inside Lovćen National Park
- The historic old Kotor–Njeguši–Cetinje route
- The striking Njegoš Mausoleum, perched near the top of Lovćen
It’s a beautiful blend of nature, culture, and history.
