We had seen Stephansdom (St. Stephan's Cathedral) 20 years ago, so we spent very little time there. Even the photo on the left is from a sidewalk cafe. The photo on the right is also from a sidewalk cafe; however, we could not recognize the landmark, even after we walked around it. We had a hard time finding our way around at the Hofburg, which was the seat of government of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. We were determined to see the Kaisers' Apartments, so we persisted, but without taking pictures.

However, at the Kaisers' summer palace, Schloss Schonbrunn, it was easy to find your way around and the grounds are lovely. It has the oldest zoo in the world and total grounds larger than the principality of Monaco. The castle is painted a gold color. The building from which we took pictures is called the Gloriette. It has a great view of the castle and Vienna in the background. View from the Gloriette View from the Gloriette View of the Gloriette

Belvedere Castle was owned by Prince Eugene, whoever he was. There is an Upper Belvedere, which we toured, and a lower Belvedere, which we did not. Both are now art museums. Upper Belvedere has 19th and 20th century Austrian artists; the Lower Belvedere has older stuff. (Go to the Fine Arts Museum for non-Austrian art.)
