Mildred Stoner (greatgrandmother to Alivia and Julia Wood) lives
in California and doesn't
care to travel. Mary Stoner Sredanovic (great aunt to Alivia and Julia;
Mildred's elder daughter) and her husband, Blazo Sredanovic, live
near Mildred. So Ruth Stoner Jodon (grandmother to Alivia and Julia;
Mildred's younger daughter) chose to visit Mary and Mildred
this year.
Mary and Ruth did a little touring around, mostly in Sacramento.
These photos, inside and outside the capitol, are shown in their
original form (left) and with color enhancements using Photoshop
Elements.
The other major effort for Ruth and Mary was editing Mildred's
next "Flowers to Color" coloring book.
Deanna Jodon (mother of Alivia and Julia; granddaughter of Mildred;
daughter of Ruth) joined Mary and
Mildred, along with Julia (greatgranddaughter, age 9) and
Alivia (greatgranddaughter turned 6 during the visit), for part of the
time that Ruth was in California. After Deanna, Julia and Alivia arrived,
the first order of business
was for the girls to reestablish their acquaintance with their
greatgrandmother.
Blazo's son, Nick, joined us for dinner one night.
Visiting the tide pools on the Pacific Ocean near Moss Beach was fun
but a little chilly even in June.
The main tourist attraction was the visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Monterey is near Salinas, the birthplace of John Steinbeck.
June 4 was Alivia's sixth birthday. Blazo (Mary's husband)
hosted a barbecue to celebrate.
When time permitted, Blazo and Julia spent some time pondering chess.
